RECIPE:
Chocolate Grand Marnier Fondue with Fresh Fruit

This doesn't resemble a blintz (a sauteed, cheese-filled crepe). But it features the same ingredients, and I didn't know what else to call it. Nomenclature is beside the point, though, as you'll find when you taste it.

Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 8 minutes
Total Time: 23 minutes

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 pound highest quality bittersweet chocolate, chopped
1/3 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons Grand Marnier

DIRECTIONS:
In a large wide saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to low, and keep the water at a simmer. Place the chocolate, cream and butter in a fondue pot, and place just the pot portion inside the large pan. Stir the chocolate mixture until smooth. Whisk the confectioners' sugar into the mixture, then whisk in the Grand Marnier. Light the fondue burner, and place the pot containing the chocolate mixture over the flame. Adjust the flame to low. Serve by dipping the fruit into the chocolate.

Serving suggestions:
1 large banana, thickly sliced
1 cup strawberries (if available), hulled
1 large navel orange, cut into sections
